Terms of use
Short and plain: what you can expect from fudami, and what fudami expects from you.
What fudami is
fudami is fudami.net (this site), the free dictionary jisho.fudami.net, and a learning app in development. Using any of them means you accept these terms.
Using the dictionary
The dictionary is free and needs no account. Use it normally. Search engines and AI assistants that follow robots.txt are welcome to read and cite its pages; bulk-downloading the dictionary through its search, or sending it traffic meant to overload it, is not. We may limit or block traffic that does. The complete data is open: take it from the sources on the credits page.
Accounts
An account needs a valid email address and is for one person. Keep your sign-in secure; you are responsible for what happens with your account. You can have it deleted at any time by writing to [email protected].
Content and licences
The dictionary data comes from open projects (JMdict, KANJIDIC2, KanjiVG, Tatoeba, the JLPT lists and others) under their own licences, listed on the credits page; you may reuse that data under those same licences. The source of fudami.net is published under the MIT licence on GitHub. The rest of fudami's own design, text and software belongs to its publisher.
No guarantee
fudami is provided as it is. Definitions, readings, pitch accents and JLPT levels come from community data and estimates and can be wrong: check what matters, such as an exam or a professional translation, against another source. Within the limits of the law, the publisher is not liable for indirect damage from using fudami. None of this limits your rights as a consumer under mandatory law.
Paid plans
Nothing is sold today. The pricing page shows planned plans; if they launch, their price and conditions will be shown to you, and accepted by you, before any payment.
Changes and availability
We may change, pause or stop any part of fudami. We post changes to these terms here with a new date, and tell account holders of significant changes by email.
Law
These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live.
